Welcome to the website of the Polish American Pulaski Association, Inc. in sunny Holiday, Florida. The club was founded in 1978. The club offers bingo on Mondays at 11 am and Tuesdays at 5 pm. Sunday dinners are served from 1:30 pm to 3 pm (no Sunday dinners during June, July & August) followed by dancing to top Polish/American bands until 6 pm. Friday dinners are held year-round from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm followed by American-style dancing until 8:30 pm. Also appearing at the club are some of the top polka bands from around the country. Special events are held regularly on Saturdays and the hall is available for rentals. You do not have to be of Polish descent to join our fine club. I encourage you to browse our website and see for yourself our fine facilities and activities.
Our season started off a little slow but I am happy to report it really picked up. The lobby roof was replaced and though it took some time to get all the kinks out it is complete. All the inside tiles will now be replaced. We almost reached our appeal for this project and if you still wish to donate something you still can.
Friday nights have continued to be an active and fun place to be. Now we offer Saturday night dancing with DJ Mike. It started in January as a trial but I am happy to report it is most successful. The music is upeat (late 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's.) Snacks are provided and you can get a slice of pizza or a hotdog if you desire. Doors open at 7 pm and fun is from 7:30 to 11 pm. Come out and try something different. Congrats to 2nd VP Dennis for organizing and running this fun night.
Our Bingo Days also started out slow but they too have greatly improved. Many thanks to our bingo workers and PCC officers who have worked hard to make this happen. Our kitchen staff has remained steady and the new items offered have been warmly received. We still have some thoughts on other additions and we will roll them out soon.
Now, to insure that the facility is ready for our members, some rules that were lax in enforcement (our fault) will now have to be adhered to:
- On Fridays, the doors will open at 3:30 pm - NOT ANY EARLIER
- On Saturdays, the doors will open at 7:00 pm - NOT ANY EARLIER unless otherwise posted
- On Sundays, the doors will open at 12:30 pm - NOT ANY EARLIER.
- On Special Events, times will be posted on bulletin boards, website and entrance tickets (shows, picnics, etc.)
We ask ALL to comply with these simple and necessary requests. NO ONE will be admitted before these times. The kitchen, bar and janitorial staff need time to get everything in order before we admit others.
Also being re-enforced is the rule MEMBERSHIP CARDS WILL BE CHECKED AT THE DOOR. If you did not yet renew for 2016, please do so now or you will lose the reduced price benefits a member enjoys.
These rules are not new and we are at fault for not enforcing our own policies. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
I am sad to report that on February 1, 2016 we lost one of our most loyal and beneficial members. John Leszczynski, Massachusetts, was called to his reward. John and his wife Fay (deceased) could always be seen at the club dancing the night away. They both enjoyed the club and loved the polka music. Even after John's surgery which required the amputation of one of his legs, he would be at the club. We offer our sincere sympathy to the entire Leszczynski family on their loss. Our hall was renamed a few years ago as "LESZCZYNSKI HALL" as a tribute to John and Fay. A memorial program was held on Sunday, March 6th before our regular activities.
As our Sundays start to wind down, we encourage all to visit as often as possible. Don't forget Fridays and Saturdays. We offer something for all. Mark your calendars now for SUNDAY, JULY 3rd as this will be our indoor picnic and SUMMER POLKA BLAST as well as celebrating our Independence Day. All the info is on the website, right above this article.
This is your club - SUPPORT IT OFTEN.
